Lynn and Pierre travel the planet

  Wednesday  Breakfast is from Starbucks after Pierre sleeps for 12 hours – and then we’re off.  We walk to the Las Vegas Sign and take the requisite picture. Then to Mandalay Bay to find the Border Grill – check. 4 miles later we’re back to the hotel to change jackets. Lunch is at Samurai BBQ in Chinatown, as seen by Pierre on a Mikey Chen YouTube video. Ordered a combo American Wagyu and a bite of A5 from Japan. Lynn added French Fries and Pierre mushrooms and cucumber kimchi and had a couple of pieces of smoked beef tongue for dessert !!! Accompanied by Sapporo drafts and a very helpful server, a fantastic meal if not an unusual meal.  Lunch at Samurai BBQ in Chinatown – Delicious We walk around Chinatown which is a bunch of strip malls. Lots of noodles places and probably sketchy massage parlors. Lyft it to Treasure Island in search of a bar previously visited but the place has changed – is it gone? We never found out.   First blog post, recapping out 5 day trip to Las Vegas on the last week of January 2022 Tuesday 7:30am United flight – leave on time and land early!! We opted to check in early at 11am to the MGM Grand for an additional $40. It’s worth it as we don’t have to wait even though it’s 10:30. Room 20322. A bit of frustration dealing with the iPhone key (more than one trip up and down and up the elevators) but it eventually worked. But just to be suuuure, we picked up two keys at a self service station (first time experience). We drop our bags and decide to walk to McMullan’s Irish Pub. It’s really windy but we make it ok. Google maps was Taking us everywhere except straight. Pierre finally switched to Apple Maps with much better results. We are starving, sit at the bar and the beer and food – meatloaf sandwich and fish and chips – don’t disappoint. This place pretends to have the largest selection of Irish whiskey in the US.
